Our First Post

Today marks the first day of our family experiment!

After explaining what a secret recovery phrase is, I’ve opened a new Zashi Wallet for my eldest daughter and given us a small $ZEC starting fund (shielded of course) .

My aim with this project is multipronged:

1 - Teach my three daughters that money should be private, scarce, and meaningful. Exactly the aims of Zcash itself.

2 - Stack $ZEC.

3 - Hope my wife joins in (probably not).

So, how are we going to achieve this? Well, we’re going to find items, fix them up, sell them for a profit and use those profits to buy $ZEC. A little bit like the Red Paperclip Trade - cryptocurrency style.

Of course, we also welcome donations, every little helps!

Firstly, I thought we’d start small - looking around at what we already have that we don’t need and can turn into our initial capital via eBay.

So, we’ve listed a few old games and consoles that should net us about £100 or so (yes, we’re British). The kids loved cleaning them up and taking the photos, I think they done a good job.

Once the auctions end on Friday afternoon, I’ll update everyone with how much we’ve made and switch it over to $ZEC.

Anyway, that’s enough rambling on, I hope everyone get’s what we’re trying to do and keeps checking in on our progress!
